About

Gay BechtelheimerConnections inform my practice and guide my focus. Varying from figuration to abstraction, expressionism to minimalism, different mediums accomplish investigative goals. Upcycling of printed magazine paper into painterly geometric compositions brings order, potential possibility, and an edificial stability to randomness. Watercolor provides language to the ineffable emotions attached to atmosphere and landscape. Through pastel I realizeĀ  an organic connection to surface, and immediacy of coloration, visual intensity, and a freedom of technique.

An arts educator, arts advocate, and a maker of images, Gay Bechtelheimer received her degree from Louisiana Tech University and resides in El Dorado, Arkansas.
